Proximidade Award
A Progressive Girl of A World of Progress bestowed the Proximidade Award on Recovery Rocks!
Thank you, A Progressive Girl, for thinking of me, reading my words, and nominating me for this award.
As per the official award rules:
“This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.”
For the eight blogs I am selecting for the forwarding of said award and why I selected them, here they are in random order
Adventures in Hedonism is happily maintained by an ex-southern Baptist turned hedonist who calls herself thegreenninja. Not only is she a smart, sexy, geek girl, she shares her insights into creating a passive income stream. She recently wrote an instructional e-book called How to Give a Relaxation Massage. The book includes basic massage techniques as well as stress relief tips and even detailed instructions on how to give a one hour full body massage. Her flash memoir The Beauty of Buttermilk Biscuits is a timely, compelling read.
Jess Haberman is an assistant project manager for a leading book publisher in New England, where she edits outdoor recreation, sports, local interest, and nature books. Jess, who usually has her nose stuck in a blog or a book, offers insight into the publishing industry and suggestions to writers.
Rolling Traveler is Derek Handley’s blog about traveling with a wheelchair. Handley has been in a wheelchair most of his adult life, yet remains active and has traveled for the past fifteen years teaching English as a foreign language. He openly shares his experiences in a warm, conversational tone.
Getting and Staying Healthy After Fifty
Open and honest sharing about relationships, weight loss, weight gain, exercise and friendships relating to getting and staying healthy after fifty.
Robin is a stay at home mom of two. After becoming disabled two years ago, she has looked for other ways to earn a little extra money. She started a website to help others looking to work from home without having to pay money to do so. She says, “I have always felt that we should not have to pay someone to work, they should pay us to do so.”
Cliterature is written by author and reviewer Emily Veinglory. Emily accepts review copies of books and other products intended for women. Her blog focuses on women, sexuality, and books. Her writing is bold, clever, and amusing. Check out For the Love of Housework.
Michael has hereby dubbed January 2009 as Get It Free Month. Every day this month he will share something different that you can get for free! So far, my favorites are free software, Internet TV, and movies. Frugal Living Today is a daily source for frugal tips, recipes, news and ideas to help you save money in all areas of your life.
Caregiving Daughter offers personal insight on how living with her mother who has Alzheimer’s affects her and her family. Her well-written stories are sometimes sad, sometimes funny. Great resource for families dealing with dementia.
Crafty Lady is versatile. She blogs about interesting arts and crafts topics including collecting miniatures, which side of the brain artists use, and nude modeling. She’s creative, innovative, and industrious. Great place to look for project ideas.
Thanks again, A Progressive Girl, for the kind thought.
